I am a lifelong resident of Surrey Township. I am a graduate of Farwell High. I reside in Oakridge subdivision with my Wife Valerie. Wehave two children Kristina and Heather. Kristina is finishing up on her Doctorates degree and is serving her internship at Saginaw Covenant. Heather currently lives in St. Petersburg Florida with her husband Jason Wentworth where she is currently finishing up on becoming a pharmacist. They just recently had a baby girl named Kiley. They hopefully want to move back closer to home.
Shortly after high school I became employed at the Clare County Sheriff Department where I attended the Michigan State Police Training Academy and became a Certified Police officer for the State of Michigan. I have been in police work a little over 30 years and currently the Law Enforcement Division commander with the rank of Lieutenant.
During my time I have served on several different boards of directors and currently serve on the Clare County Gun Board, Central Michigan Community Mental Health advisory board and the Medical Control Board. I began to feel it was time to focus more directly on my home community and use my years in public service to help better serve the people of my township. Most of my family and friends are from this area and I take the township Supervisor job very serious.
I try to set time away each day to answer all question and concerns pertaining to the township by making myself available either at the township hall or at home. The decision made must be in the best interest of the township and most important for all of the residences.
